Artist Statement

I am a self-representing artist living in Omaha Nebraska. I am self taught since a child. I paint abstract expressive contemporary art in many types of media to include acrylic, oil, encaustic, and collage. There is often few clear forms in my art. I paint with rough nonprecise edges and lines, and thick impasto brush and knife work. I use a plethora of collage materials, such as newspaper, tinfoil, rice paper, tape, clear transparencies, woodcut prints, and photo transfer in many of my paintings. I also transfer patterns through porus materials such as Japanese lace paper, or a grid, to the surface of the painting.
